DJ Lejas. LEJAS is a mix of my full name initials.

That I'm Mexican, and I'm bilingual.​

I work in the hospitality industry and I'm a chef

How did you get into DJing?

Back in 1990, my mom used to own a ballroom with a full sound and light system, and when nobody was around, I used to sneak and mess with the equipment and scratch vinyls on the 1200 Technics.

Who were your inspirations as a DJ and/or someone who mentored you?

DJ Budha Mix, my good friend and mentor from Mexico City, taught me all the basics—David Morales, DJ Technic (Hawaii), and my good friend DJ Blake.

We know you can play everything, but name two genres that you love to DJ and why?

Old school house, 90's eurodance, cumbia, salsa, latin vibes, 80s and 90s pop.

Tell us about your favorite DJ moment?

I have a few, but they all come together to the same feeling: when, at the end of the night at a wedding, nightclub, birthday party, or social event, you take all the guests on this musical journey, and they leave on cloud nine. Music is a time machine; it will take you back to the moment when that song was super special.​
